DESIGN
At a unique location in Amsterdam this exceptional project, The Glass House Amsterdam is being realized by ist initiatior Pieter de Hooch Ontwikkeling BV. This project, which is very original for Amsterdam, as its most important goal has the creation of an artistic, exclusive and refined living-environment.
The Glass House Amsterdam name is derived from the famous complex in New Canaan, designed by the American architect Philip Johnson. This glass pavilion, located just outside New York, has been an inspiring meeting-place for American artists for years. The name of the project not only refers to the cultural environment of the Museumkwartier, in which it is located, but also to the way in which The Glass House is designed. The design provides for ceilings with an increased height and the use of mainly glass on the side facing the inner garden, and breathes light, air, and space.
The Glass House has been designed with an eye for detail and quality. The special detailing and exclusive choice of material makes the project timeless and durable.
